Dragonwake

Dragonwake is set in Valoria, the land once ruled by the old empire of Istaris before the Starfall. Your heirloom, a blackglass star amulet, draws you to the land just as the primordial dragon begins to stir.

A traditional roguelike with a long and detailed quest line, an expansive world map, and lots of replayability. Choose a race and class, then begin your road toward the Sundering Scar. Good luck.

Quick Play Guide

  • Every action is a turn. Move one step, attack, rest, or interact, then nearby enemies act.
  • Press enter to interact or confirm. The in-game footer also shows scheme-specific shortcuts like e or b.
  • Default controls are built around numpad movement. Dragonwake uses 8-direction movement, so the intended default layout is the numpad.
  • Laptop-friendly layout alternatives are in Options. If you do not want to use numpad movement, switch to one of the alternate control schemes there.
  • Shift + arrows is configurable in Options. Use Diagonal Mode for release-to-step laptop movement or Fast Walk to keep moving until interrupted.
  • Useful keys: esc for menus and back, number-row shortcuts for the in-game menus, x to look, and F1 or ? for help.
  • Early route: buy some travel supplies at the docks, then head inland toward Havenford for the first real town and quest hub.
  • If you are new to roguelikes: play slow, inspect things, retreat from bad fights, and treat survival as progress.
